Of course, we don't need to tell the MAMAS anything. They know what's best for the underprivileged children of South Africa better than we do. Therefore Children's Fund MAMAS will never have her own agenda or imposed programme.
What does work?
We support strong local women with their own initiative. Women who mobilize volunteers in their own environment and get started. Women who are motivated by personal involvement. Women at the service of children's lives, even though they don't have much themselves.
Within basic principles the MAMAS determine how they want to spend our support. Each project makes an annual plan, which is treated as an agreement. Then we carefully monitor whether the project complies with the agreement. Each project is visited twice a year. In short: Children's Fund MAMAS believes in freedom of implementation and monitoring of accountability.
The projects and Children's Fund MAMAS both do what they do best: the projects in South Africa organize daily care and Children's Fund MAMAS recruit friends and money in the Netherlands, and guarantees proper use.
